SHELLAC MANICURE. Today was m...

SHELLAC MANICURE. Today was my first time at the Aveda institute. I currently have shellac nails and needed to get them redone after two weeks. My regular manicurist is in SE Texas. The people at the front desk were friendly and professional. I was able to get an appointment within 15 minutes. A pleasant girl whose first initial is M took care of me. M was very nice and is getting ready to graduate in a week. I picked the color white with the 4th of July coming up. M put way to much polish on to thick. Little cracks started to form so she had to soak my fingers yet again in acetone for the 2nd time to remove the polish. 1st time to remove my old polish, 2nd time to remove the white polish she put on. We figure it’s a bad bottle of polish. She gets a different bottle of polish and applies it the same thing happens. By this time (2 hours later) I say I want to stop now. Aveda’s Motto is: “We have created an atmosphere of excellence where students will flourish under the guidance of superior instructors.” I did not see an instructor till the very end. Not once did an instructor come by to check on how my shellac manicure was progressing. I was in a back room with just myself and the student. When M called the instructor he looked then ran off to determine what action he would take. They were going to give me a discount! I said “NO” I am not paying anything. I tried to get some free acetone so I could go home and remove the polish myself. I ended up purchasing my own acetone and just removed my shellac for the 3rd time! My nails are a tad sore to say the least. The polish was so thick which I believe was one of the problems. Perhaps they should have thinned it out? You would think the student/manicurist or instructor would have figured this out. Maybe they buy cheap shellac nail polish? As you may know many salons just keep adding whatever to their nail polish to extend the lifetime of the polish and to save money! They ended up not charging me. My nails looked horrid the polish was extremely thick and chunky and full of cracks. Would I go back again? I don’t know. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I would suggest asking for a new bottle of shellac that has never been opened. Good luck!

Wow, from the moment I stepped into Aveda Institute until the moment I stepped out, I felt as If I was in a whole different place that was dedicated Just For ME! As I approached the counter I was greeted in a very professional manor and with an Awesome attitude. The Stylist who attended Me was very nice, motivating and did everything to take very good care of Me and my needs. I really can't express how GREAT I felt when I walked out of there! What I can say is that it will not be my last visit there and I am sure that You also would experience such Great service as I did. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making feel Wonderful!
