Provided by YP.comIf you use a doctor that has offices in the medical buildings attached to Driscoll Children's Hospital you may be charged outrageous "facility fees" even though you never set foot in the hospital. These fees are over and above the charges for a normal doctor visit. You may also be charged inflated prices for x-rays and laboratory work. You will NOT be informed of this prior to the visit. This happened to me when I took my daughter to see Dr. Roger Timberlake of the Children's Orthopaedic Associates of South Texas. This was a regularly scheduled doctor's appointment. I had a referral from my insurance and he was listed as "in network" on my insurance company's provider list. When I registered, I paid my regular co-payment and thought I had met my obligation. A few weeks later, I received bills for all of the extra charges in the mail. There was NO disclosure about this whatsoever. We received no benefit for these extra fees. If your child needs medical care, be sure to ask your provider if they charge these ridiculous fees. If they do, go somewhere else!

Provided by YPmobileBe wary. Urgent care clinic will claim they take your insurance (ex: United). They sub the actual physicial to another company Coastal Bend who will not take your insurance. Not only do you pay your urgent care co-pay, but you receive a full bill from the physician that your insurance at best partially cover as out of network. Deceitful when I asked about insurance prior to arrival. The facility is nice, wait was only a couple hours so not bad, and people are nice. Just be aware this will cost you far more than you expect.

Provided by YP.comMy family and I are so blessed to have found Driscoll Childrens Hospital! Very great attention for our daughter and not only her, but great attention for us as parents. The staff was very friendly and professional. That hospital is special, they have almost anything you can think your baby will need while admitted there. Great, great hospital....God Bless the staff and Doctors. Doctor Morales is the Dr. who operated my daughter; God Bless him and his whole staff.

Provided by YP.comMy son was sent to driscoll for testing twice. Both times we had to wait forever to get anything done. I presented my insurance card both times and filled out several papers that were required for the testing. Instead of using my insurance card that was presented and copied and written down they simply went off my old ins card (which is in their system and no longer valid) causing all sorts of billing mix ups and credit problems. They were called not once not twice but three times over this matter and I even went down there to try and resolve the issue when the bills started arriving under my maiden name to which I have never used there, and yet I am still receiving denial letters from my prior ins and overdue bills from the hospital because they refuse to send the bills to the correct ins or change what has been asked of them!! I call and cannot get hold of anyone. I leave a msg and do not get a call in return. This is the most unprofessional medical institution I have ever had to deal with and it makes me wonder just how good their care really is if they cant even get their paperwork straight! I will never take my children there again and I will warn everyone else i nkow to avoid it like the plague! No stars are given because they don't deserve any because why should I care when they don't!

Provided by YP.comThis was a miserable experience as soon as I walked through the door. I rode on the elevator 4 times before someone at the Hospital finally got me where I needed to be. I had a piece of paper from my doctor as to what was being performed and on that paper it referenced floor #2. I went to floor #2 and they sent me to floor #3. I went to floor # 3 and they sent me back to Floor #2. Floor #2 walked me up to floor #3 and into the EEG office. The EEG people then escorted me to floor#1 to register in which this was never mentioned when talking the day before to the EEG people as to what preperations were needed for the test. I did not receive a call back on these procedures until the day right before the test. THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
