Incorporated in 1977, the Women's Shelter of South Texas is a nonprofit organization that supports and empowers individuals affected by family violence and sexual assault. The organization provides advocacy, education and resources to create a safe and supportive community. Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, the organization supports a youth services program that includes individual and group counseling for both residential and nonresidential children and teenage victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. In addition, it conducts a variety of workshops, activities and parenting classes to assist families in rebuilding their lives. The Women's Shelter of South Texas provides several rural outreach, community resource and case management services. The organization additionally supports the Batterer's Intervention and Prevention Program.
