Provided by YP.comFirst impressions mean a lot. I was definitely going to purchase a 2017 Outback, the question was, "Who wanted my business more?" Since I work in Rockland County, but live in Yorktown, I wanted to see just what Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru had to offer. After waiting EXACTLY an hour and a half AFTER my appointment, the salesman apologized and finally met with me. That's right, and hour and a half. I stuck around since I was off from work the following day, but it was certainly an exercise in patience. Not a good first impression at all. He promised me that they had the lowest prices and offered $2,700 for my Honda Odyssey minivan trade-in. I explained to both him and the General Sales Manager that I wasn't in a rush to buy, and that I wanted to honor my appointment with "a salesman" at Curry Subaru (Marc DeBenedictis). After a flurry of activity on the side between the two of them, the GSM came back and offered $5,000 for my Honda and told me that he was determined to "keep me off of Curry's books". I told him that I would get back to him when I was ready to make a decision. I pride myself on being an informed buyer. I spent long hours looking at websites such as Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book, and Consumer Reports (among a few) and did my research regarding model car and price. I finally decided on the Outback and had a decent idea of my target price. I went back to Curry, after initially getting Marc's business card during an initial, but very professional, first meeting (and very good first impression). No pressure and no hassles. I met with Marc and showed him Bill Kolb Jr's numbers that I had taken on my cell phone. I will admit, there was some initial hesitation on his part, but he went over to speak with his GSM, Eric Erbsland, and came back to match Bill Kolb Jr's price (one which BKJ said Curry wouldn't be able to do). While not getting as much for my minivan (the $5,000 that was first offered was for pending "further visual inspection"), Eric came close, and offered me a trade-in price that I am sure BKJ would have offered me after their "further visual inspection", perhaps even less. If that wasn't good enough, Stephen Neubauer BEAT my credit union's auto loan interest rate, so my loan went through them. Who wouldn't take a deal like this? All in all, a better than expected day all around. Marc was thoroughly cordial and professional. The entire process from start to finish went faster and smoother than I expected and the various details of my car were shown and explained to me. I also liked the little details that they added, like the ribbon and bow on the rear view mirror and the photo of me next to my car. Little things, but certainly nice to see. I got the price that I wanted, a fair trade-in amount, and a better than expected interest rate. Never once did I feel any pressure to buy quick or to purchase additional "bells and whistles", although you can't fault any of them for trying. It is a business after all. I feel that all three gentlemen represented Curry very well, and more importantly to me, they have gained a loyal customer. Curry wanted my business more and they got it in a very professional way. Looks like they got me in their books after all!

They will recommend unnecessary services & repairs to make a profit while blaming consumer for all. It's beyond me how they sleep at night while practicing such awful business practices.
