Terrible experience, waited 45 minutes for my order....And the cafe was not busy. The breakfast tacos I ordered were tiny portions and extremely bland, also the eggs come scrambled style on these and they were not fully cooked, eating raw eggs is risky for your health so I stopped as soon as I realized. Though the Coffee comes from a good quality local roaster you can tell the cafe does not care about coffee and stores it improperly and the espresso taste burnt as a log. Seriously not worth your time. STAY AWAY if you care about spending your money

I wish I could give zero stars- DO NOT GO HERE! this cafe is a total scam, in every way. The owner is a terrible troll ( many witnesses have seen him screaming at his employees) the food is bland, most often served cold and so overpriced it would almost be laughable except ripping people off is NOT funny- but seriously one egg cost 3.25 ...One egg! That is almost the cost of a dozen free range organic eggs. Furthermore I have been told by many former employees ( very high turn over rate , no surprise) that the owner steals tips, deducts money from employees paychecks when he feels like it and has only one barista staffed for 8 hours as not only the barista but also the dish washer, food runner and cleaner and if they don't "run the food quickly enough" that's when the abusive yelling starts

I saw all the bad reviews but being in the food service industry myself I decided to give this little cafe a chance.

Sunnyside Up would lead one to believe, by the name, that the atmosphere would be pleasent and maybe even professional, however with the exception of the wonderful batista who helped me I can only say that it was the worst dining out experience of my life.

1. I can only assume the very short man yelling at his employee in plain view of costumers is the owner , abusive and unprofessional

2. Ordered the "Jon's breakfast" a simple egg scramble and waited 30 minutes, the dish was not hot nor warm when it arrived and when I inquired the server as to why my order took a half hour she replied "it's because I have to not only make all the drinks I also have to do all the dishes for the kitchen and front of house and run the food, not to mention the kitchen staff is a mess" perfect explanation from this poor overworked employee

3. If you do not properly staff a restaurant then the cost is the costumer service and I do not blame my barista for the poor service but the mean little man of an owner for being stingy and not hiring a dish washer or a food runner. Unacceptable

4. When I finally did eat my lukewarm breakfast I found a long, black curly hair in the potatoes. This is disgusting and unsafe and I will be reporting this to the health department as I snapped a picture on my phone.

I would give negative stars if I could. Overpriced, slow service, small portions, no flavor. Didn't have half the things I wanted on the drink menu, menu prices are lower than what they charge you for (big surprise when you sign the receipt), paid NINE DOLLARS for two small incredibly bland and basic tacos. Do not go here, and if you do, don't buy any food, just use their fast wifi. Only would recommend the hemp chai and also one of the nice girls who works here (but is quitting this week due to all the BS).

Terrible food, worst service. I would never recommend breakfast here.
