Videx began in 1979 by creating a video card enhancement solution for Apple computers. It increased Apple and Macintosh products to include microprocessor-based keyboards, advanced concept printer interface cards and productivity software. In 1985, Videx launched its next product line of portable data collection terminals. The company s products are made with metal cases designed to hold up to the rigors of factory floors, military installations, construction sites and guard tour applications. In 1999, Videx introduced the TouchAlert and TouchAccess products. These products are placed on the exterior of cabinets and containers and grant access to authorized users based on the dates and times that are programmed into the devices. In 2000, it introduced CyberLock. This electronic cylinder is designed to convert existing mechanical locks into functional access control systems, without the need for bulky door lock hardware. Videx has staffed its customer support team with hardware and software technicians and is based in Corvallis, Ore.
