What a find! Pickled herring, brats, homemade sauerkraut! Super friendly and helpful and delicious. They have a wide selection of European specialties (everything from jams to chocolates and magazines).



And the food is super yummy - not to mention it goes great with a cold German beer.

This little gem is tucked into a nondescript little strip mall on Harbor Blvd @ 19th St. The staff is friendly, wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable. My friend and I stopped by in search of authentic pork bratwurst, sauerkraut, and of course to select a few good German beers to go with our chosen fare. To our delight, there were nearly two dozen varieties of beers, two styles of pork brats (in addition to the classic "white") - regular and smoked - and the best surprise of all, homemade sauerkraut made with pork and sausage bits. The gentleman who waited on us - perhaps the owner - was kind enough to give us samples of the sauerkraut to try before buying, and I'm so glade he did. Even though the authentically-German sauerkraut in jars would have suited us just fine, the homemade variety was simply delicious. We were told it was best served warm and it was true - the tart and savory flavors really stood out when served with a grilled brat! There are several other grocery and sundry items available here as well. I'll definitely shop here again when I am in town!
