Learn from our experience when hiring an IT company like inhouseIT, and STAY AWAY.

You are taking a risk with allowing them to install a monitoring program, which reports your software details back to InHouse IT. There is a risk that unknown people can access the data, and report anonymously to the BSA (Business Software Alliance) for a reward. We paid inhouseIT to provide us a with a computer systems assessment and recommendations. They installed tracking software that gave them access to our entire system which reported back to them information on our entire system. After we had decided not to use them for computers, we retained them for the phone system, however they kept the tracking program (supposedly to monitor the phone system) on the computers that kept reporting back until we recently (a year after we didnt renew the phone systems) and found the program still sending information to their IP address. Also In the course of their assessment, they failed to advise us of the presence of potentially unlicensed software (they only pointed out one of them, which we believe we cured with another vendor). We decided not to go with InHouse IT for the reason we believed that the program they proposed would have limited our ability to utilize other companies to service our computers and would customize the system in a way that it would be difficult for others to work on it. We chose Best Buy to replace our computers instead (good choice).
