As of July 2012, Newport Tanning Club has been taken over by what feels like a large corporation - Premier Tanning or something like that. The experience is much more sterile and much less friendly than before. The girl (tallish brunette with frosty lipstick and too much eye make-up) at the front desk has the customer service skills of a pitbull. I'm not sure she is able to crack a smile or explain things without sounding indignant. She should be a bill collector or lawyer...not a customer service person. Everything seems to be a monthly package, which only benefits tanning addicts. Also, they have a fingerprint system, which they demand that you participate in, but you still have to tell them your last name (when visiting). So what is the point of taking your fingerprint other than to invade your privacy. The stench of my first visit, after the TAKEOVER, has left me with a sense of disgust.
