Dr. Steven Yang is a board-certified UCI Health orthopedic surgeon who specializes in adult reconstructive surgery, with a focus on primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He has specialized training in modern arthroplasty techniques, including anterior-approach hip replacement, computer-assisted joint replacement, patient-specific knee replacement as well as partial knee replacements. He also treats patients who have complications from failed or painful hip and knee replacements. Yang earned his medical degree from the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Fla. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif., followed by a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He also holds a master’s of science degree in molecular biology from UC San Diego and a master’s of business administration in health policy and management from the University of Miami. He has published numerous articles and book chapters in the field of joint replacement. His specific research interests include metal allergies in total hip and total knee replacements, techniques in anterior hip replacement and enhancing post-surgery function in younger joint replacement patients.
