Hired AHTF to remove an existing autumn blaze maple damaged from a severe wind storm in June and replace it with another ABM. Tree removed and replaced 7/11 by AHTF. I called Jerry from AHTF the following day, disappointed with the condition of the area surrounding the tree (not repairing damage grass and ground area, dirt extending 8"-12" beyond spade line onto the grass - 1" to 2" deep, 6'-7' area of cedar mulch extending & beyond spade line, grass/sod patches buried in the dirt and not located back to their original spot). When I called Jerry, I simply stated that I was disappointed with the condition of area immediately around the tree was not repaired, gave my specifics when asked by Jerry and he informed me that is not their job to repair sod and due to the root structure of the existing tree, that grass areas around the tree harm the tree root growth, etc. and went on in a condescending tone and manner to a customer that had stated to Jerry, I was not looking for any price reduction on the invoice or tree installation. I was dissapointed that more care was not taken with area surrounding the tree area, minimal effort to repair damage areas and did not use plywood sheathing to minimize ground depression/damage surrounding the tree (as exhibited in the photo gallery for the AHTF web page). Jerry was defensive, raising his tone, interrupting the customer (to explain to me characteristics of the job, the nature of trees/tree removal, the soil conditions of the yard), swore numerous times on the phone at me, and was not willing to come to my home to look at my concern or receive payment. Photographs are posted of the before and after (I removed 3.5 cubic feet -a wheel barrel- of dirt, dug up sod under dirt and put it back in its spot, the ground still needs leveling and additional sod). I will not be recommending Arbor Hill Tree Farm.
