The humane society is awesome always clean, animals well cared for. I met Pam who does the transportation for V.V.H.S through my past job working at Tumbleweed animal hospital she always made sure before leaving the animals in our care that we got each and every animals history and of course most animals are picked up as strays or dropped off with little information when they get brought into shelters but the staff there truly do care for these animals and don't just leave them in cages they do all they can to reunite family's and there pets. One staff called us because they had a dog come in they scanned it for a micro chip and well the dog was chipped but the owners never registered the micro chip, Do you think she stopped there? No this girl made calls after calls tracking all the information she could to help get him back home and to me that's dedication 😊

I went to drop off a donation and start looking for a cat to adopt. The staff was helpful and informative about the process, the cats and the best type of home for them. She obviously cared about the well being of the animals and finding them good homes. The facility was clean and the cats seemed content (for caged animals) and well cared for. I feel comfortable adopting a cat from them.

i went today to try and adopt ...

i went today to try and adopt a dog today, even though i have heard negative feed back about incidences in the past about unlawful euthanization. i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. well when i arrived i was met by a very short and unfriendly attitude. so needless to say i never felt welcome. after pulling teeth to get any help from the woman, she showed me to the door where all the dogs were. never did she explain anything about the program or how it works. so no help there. luckily i did meet a dog i fell in love with. but again.. there was no one there to help me see the dog, let alone have anyone answer any questions of mine. so.. i walked. a dog could have found a home that day, but they failed completely at there jobs big time!!! verde valley humane society is a complete joke!! and i hope they read this. something needs to change big time!

We went in today to look into ...

We went in today to look into adopting a dog we knew was put in there. Abused by the neighbor. We were treated very rudely. By all staff members. It was a unfriendly environment. Had my 3 year old grandson with us. And ended up leaving after being treated very hostel . I am an animal communicator. They didn't know that. And a photographer who works with Human Society in New mexico. I will not be going back. I felt sorry for the animals. I do not recommend This human society to anyone. Felt sorry for the animals. They were not given the right treatment to bond with the client or potential family. Please know things need to change. the dogs aren't in prison. They are needing love. Roxy Young.

Not so charitable

I adopted a Black Lab from VVHS back in '06 and he bit a kid in Oct '11 and because he was adopted they held so much crap over our heads. First they put him in quarantine for the mandatory 10 days, but we got him 17 days later, then he had to do mandatory classes, then 2 years probation. All this because you think you're doing a "good thing" by adopting. I implore you to seek pets elsewhere, otherwise your charitable compassion for adoption will have stipulations to reward your participation and condoning of this "establishment".
