Longfellow Elementary School helps to develop academic, social, emotional, intellectual and physical skills of students. Founded in 1939, the school is named after the famous poet and educator, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It has an enrollment of approximately 400 students in prekindergarten through sixth grade. Longfellow Elementary School offers special classes in physical education, music and art. The school s core curriculum includes English, math, science, reading, writing and social studies. It has a library that includes picture dictionaries, encyclopedias, newspapers, storybooks, puzzles, and fiction and nonfiction books.
