Edwin Fastnacht was a passionate entrepreneur who became affectionately known as Mr. Ed. His keen sense of business started as a teenager opening a music store that he turned in a short time into a small chain. Mr. Ed had a gift of converting interests and ideas into successful businesses. After returning from military service in the Korean War, Mr. Ed and his wife raised their family of eight children while he made a very prosperous career in the insurance industry. But in 1985 Mr. Ed chose to go into his own business again. Establishing his home as a shipping base, he sold flags, tapestries and pottery on street corners and flea markets. Four years later he added a line of telescoping flag poles. The business grewand outgrew his home! So Mr. Ed moved the venture into a warehouse on Valley View Drive in Council Bluffs. He also began installing commercial flag poles and expanded his inventory of many different flags. By the close of the 1990s, Mr. Eds Flagpole Co. moved into a larger, newly built showroom and warehouse where the business remains today. Even with a fully stocked store in Council Bluffs, Mr. Ed still believed in the power of outside sales. He set up exhibit teams to sell flags and flagpoles in state fairs, county fairs and home shows across eight states.Shop Mr. EdsTelescoping Flagpoles Pole Accessories House Mounts U.S. Flags Historical U.S. Flags State Flags International Flags Military/Veteran Flags Flag Display Cases Civilian Flags Patriotic Flags Indoor Flags Team Flags NCAA Merchandise Holiday/Seasonal Flags Ballcaps Dog Tags
