Pizza King’s evolution began in 1965 when Dan and Pete Poulos started the 212 Club, where the Midlands Mall is now located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. When the developers cleared the land for the Midlands Mall, the 212 Club closed and the Poulos brothers set their sights on a new location. They purchased St. Patrick’s school at 1101 N. Broadway and converted it into a full service restaurant called Pizza King. Throughout the years, Pizza King’s menu has grown into a local favorite for outstanding pizza, prime rib, steaks and seafood and has won many accolades for their food and service. The Poulos’ pride themselves on the importance of excellent food, outstanding service and a family friendly environment. Family is important to the Poulos’. There are seven family members employed at Pizza King, including the founders who still come to work on a daily basis. Pizza King can seat over 350 patrons, including a beautiful, full-service lounge. The restaurant has 3 banquet rooms and is a popular venue for special occasions.

Love, Love, Love it!!!

I have been going to Pizza King since I was 4 years old and have never had bad service or food. The pizza is awesome and the other offerings are very good as well. We drive from West Omaha for their pizza at least 2 times per month

Bad Experience

I have been going to Pizza King since I was a child...we would pass the time by watching the cooks make pizza behind the glass.We went today to celebrate my daughters 17th birthday. We arrived at 5:25 and had the most wonderful waitress, Ann. Placed our order at 5:30 and waited for our steaks and lasagna. Ann brought our salads and we enjoyed our conversation. 20 minutes later Ann is assuring us that it woun't be long........an hour later we finally got our order. Steaks and lasagna were cold. Ann took them back and was very upset that we were having such a bad experience. I know it wasn't her fault. We took the bill to the cashier/owner and told her of our problem...she then told me that it was the fault of my waitress....WRONG! I told the cashier/owner it was not the waitress but the cooks....she did check to see when our order was placed...5:35. Then the cashier/owner told me she could do nothing about the bill that it was just a busy night. I have NEVER had such bad

WE were recently visiting family in council Bluffs, ate at the pizza king 3 different meals. wonderfull. had a different entree each time, and everything was great. great food, company.
