I was very disapointed in the unprofessional attitude of the sales rep. - Bert. After stopping in the store on Cicero Ave to follow up with a quote he was supposed to have given me over a week ago --- I called him (from his own store) and asked him why he hadn't gotten back to me with the quote promised... and he told me that "he didn't want to work with home remodelers like myself." He literally said "we don't want your business buddy." (some salesman this guy is)

When I told the man in the store what Bert had said...he was silent and just shrugged his shoulders.

It must be nice to have so much business that you can tell customers to "go-away." And with the attitude of this company, I think all of us should "go-away" - go far, far away from this company.

Save yourself the trouble.
Horrible customer service from installers.

One of them, who wouldn't confirm his name, but everyone kept calling him Orlando, tried to charge me an extra $80 to install something that was already part of the work order.

Beth and Heather ( customer service rep and office manager) were rude and raised their voices because I asked about the sensors that appear to be malfunctioning. They told me to, " Do the work yourself, I'm not gonna keep going over this with you".

I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone's worst enemy. STAY AWAY FROM BETTER BUILT GARAGES!

I was very happy with my new garage door and opener. The gentlemen who installed it was very professional and did the job in 2 hours. He had 27 years experience and didn't mind my asking questions or watching him. The door is perfect for us. Thank you Better Built and Larry for a job well done.

The garage they built my family was very beautiful. I am very happy with it and will recommend Better Built to everyone I can.

The Salesman I worked with explained everything about a new garage in great detail, very professional job. They provided addresses of completed garages which was a great help so I could see work they had previously done. Demolition, concrete crew, and carpenters were extremely professional, courteous and very efficient. It was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend Better Built!

Please read, DO NOT BUY FROM BETTER BUILT. They are horrible. I had a 2 car garage built by Danley 3 years ago and recently decided to add an addition. Better Built did come in as the lowest bidder but I would now gladly pay more for a better company. Not only was the wood they used below standard, but they don’t use any cross-bracing. I had numerous complaints, ranging from, they didn’t clean up after they stripped the roof, broke my backyard furniture, left a hole in the roof where they stole my existing roof vents, left nails sticking up out of the concrete, garage door was dented, garage door could not open manually because in was installed incorrectly, the opener itself looked used, siding was unlevel and the entryway didn’t even line up with the door. After several complaints to the office, I had to meet with their quality control person, who agreed with 95% of my complaints. Just had the garage door replace. The installation looked good but when I closed the door one end was higher than the other. I asked them to adjust the door because it was obviously crooked. They told me the concrete floor was out of leveled and there was nothing they could do about it. There was no issue with the previous door and I didn't buy their answer. I called Larry about the issue and he pretty much backed up his boys who installed the door. In the end I paid $800 for the 6'10"x 14 door w/torsion spring and ended up adjusting the door myself. It took 20 minutes. PS. Don't buy their Garage door opener $275. You could buy a better one than theirs and save $150. They're easy to install.

Better Built Garages is not what say they are, they do not stand behide there work and there management is always wright and the paying customer is wrong in there eyes. They hire very unprofessional contractors that would never make it in a union setting. They did more damage to my property they I expected I had my Garage started in May 2010 and till today July 2010 it still is not done. Bob is avoiding my phone calls and will not return they. My Garages failed inspection three times. So if you are going to use Better Built please be careful and and inspect all of the work before you pay them in full. Because as soon as they have the check in there hand you will not see them again.

I had a Betterbuilt garage built 5 years ago. The header over the 16 ft door is sagging. I called and talked to the owner who sent out his foreman. The header is sagging 5/8 of an inch. This is due to using a double 2 by 12 with a piece of 1/2 plywood laminated between them. This is definately inadequate for my garage. I told the salesman Bert Dado that I was going to store in the garage attic that is why I went with a 6/12 roof pitch to gain height in the attic. THe foreman got back to me and said they would fix the sagging header for 1500.00. They wanted to charge me because my contract didnt say I was going to store in the attic. I didnt think it had to I told my salesman exactly what I was going to do. They installed the windows I bought and the stairway for the attic. The carpenter who built my garage also installed the 2 by 6 rafters I bought for a fee. If the salesman would have mentioned that I needed to put a different header in at the time of the build I would have.
