Provided by YP.comWorst Management Ever.
I have been working in the service industry for many years, so when I go out to eat I often give the staff and management a break and the benefit of the doubt. But today I had the worst customer service experience ever. We went to dinner on a Wednesday night with a coupon that read "Free Appetizer Up to $10" and in the fine print read "Not valid with any other offer". We used the coupon and when we got our bill we were charged $1.00 tax on our appetizer. I was confused and asked why we got charged and the server said he doesn't understand but that was what he was told. He took our cc and said he would have the manager come over. 15 minutes later a younger girl came up and when I brought this up to her she had a dumbfound look on her face and replied "we charge tax on everything." I told her this is misleading and the coupon had nothing stating taxes will apply. She said she has no idea how tax works. I gave her an example of how if you purchase something on sale you get taxed on the sale price, not the full price. She replied she doesn't pay attention to taxes and doesn't go shopping. I was confused and asked again if she was the manager, to which she said she is the owner - the owner?!
The food is sub-par: the bread they give is stale, the vegetables frozen and not drained when thawed, and the soup from a can. So you would think they would want to keep what little customers they have with a friendly rapport. It was only a dollar, to which she could have either credited me the money on principle, or at least apologized for the misleading coupon and say she will try to correct the fine print on any future coupons. But I got nothing.
To the Owner's Daughter: Very cocky of you when your PARENTS are the owners! And you need to learn customer service skills. Do not parade around the restaurant that your parents built and act ungrateful to the customers who keep you in business. You lost one longtime customer and several more with that attitude.

Provided by YP.comLocated in Countryside on 55th Street is a very good, comfortable and friendly restaurant called Mangia Mangia.
I go there quite often and feel it is a friendly restaurant where the staff is good, friendly, efficient and all cooperate together for excellent service.
The food is reasonable, delicious and abundant. I see all type of people (young, singles, couples, families, seniors and private parties) having a wonderful time.
I feel that it is not only a restaurant that you should know, but one to which you should go to.
It is so nice to see a family owned neighborhood restaurant that is equal to any other restaurant

Provided by YP.comMangiaMangia is a great restaurant with large portions and a tremendous staff that is extremely friendy and very knowledgeable. Their wide variety of dinner selections (not all Italian) make it a restaurant that you can return to often.
I have also tried their pizza and chops, which are new to their menu. These new menu items were also extremely good. I recommend them highly.
They have a great price range and a very good wine list. This is great for singles, couples and families who like good food.
As a person who dines out alot Mangia Mangia make ther top of the list

Provided by YP.comI have visited Mangia Mangia qa dozen times now, and always with friends and co-workers. We love the quiet privacy of the booths where you can carry on a conversation. Larger groups can have fun at one of the larger tables in the center of the restaurant.
I have Celiac disease, and MUST eat gluten-free. The friendly waitstaff always steers me in the right direction and makes sure my order is safe for me to eat without even a trace of flour.
Portions are large, and most dishes come with fabulous sides. If you are a fan of garlic, try the green beans or spinach studded with fresh garlic slices. My favorites are the zuchinni grilled until lightly caramelized or the crispy potato wedges that come in an olive oil and herb sauce. Yum!

Provided by YP.commy parents and i decided to try this place after we drove past it one night. i love italian cousine and was excited to find some place new. the first thing that surprised me about mangia mangia was the prices. for a $20 entree i thought i could have gone to beautiful italian restaurant with white linen table clothes and candles on the table (Maggianos) and had a MUCH better experience. we went on a thursday night around 7:00 and the service was terrible. there was one waitress for the whole restaurant, which was probably half full. then when it was time to pay the bill, the manager who was at the register, gave my father more than a hard time about paying our bill with a check card because she didn't want to pay a fee. when my dad offered to use a regular credit card (because his bank charges him $3 to use a his check card as a debit card), she had an attitude and said "i'll take the loss THIS time". needless to say, i will not be returning to mangia mangia.
I am sorry to see that you were sadly disappointed in Managia Mangia. First and foremost our biggest priority is to have all our customers leave satisfied and to return again. We go out of our way to try and make everyone happy. As far as the pricing $20.00 for an entree is one of our higher end items such as veal, filet, or shrimp and also all our dinners include soup or salad and a choice of a side dish. During these last two years we've had to make some hard decisions and one was for customers when using a check card we asked if they could please enter pin # because of the higher rates we are being charged. We offer many differnt kinds of discounts such as 10% off when using cash or buy one entree and get an appt. half off, weekends fist glass of wine $5. half off desserts during week with purchase of entree. Our pricing represents high quality food with large portions not linen. we are always upset when we have a customer not satisfied.
