Provided by YP.comA friend went and their french fries smelled like fish. I'd bet everything goes in the same deep fryer.
Another friend couldn't eat the steamers. They were bad.
Very bad.

Provided by YP.comLocation is great in the summer and the food is okay but the owner is rude and arrogant. Doesn't know how to treat his customers or his employees. Will never go back again.

Provided by YP.comLakeview Restaurant is on the lake in Coventry Conn. They offer Italian, Seafood, Steak, Pizza, Sandwiches & Burgers. They have an outdoor deck overlooking the lake. They have a large bar, and big screen TV. When we first arrived we were happy to be reunited with our favorite waiter, Joey from Coventry Pizza, who we had not seen in 3 years. We sat in a booth overlooking the lake. I got the Rib Eye Steak Sandwich topped with a delicious combination of sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. The Steak Fries were the way I like them; hot and crispy golden brown. Liz got the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo served over Linguini. I sampled some, both the chicken and white sauce were very tasty. The portion was very generous, we took half of it home. Joey, our server, was very attentive & friendly. Leo, the manager, thanked us as we were leaving and was very friendly with us. Next time we try an appetizer; Chicken Wings, Fried Calamari, Stuffed Mushrooms, Sweet Potato Fries, Shrimp, Smelts in a Basket. Then split an Antipasto Salad, or Baked Lasagna. LakeView Restaurant, review #2 We went back again to dine at the LakeView. They had a "Fresh Whole Belly Clams" sign out in front. Of course that's what I ordered and I am happy to report that LakeView's clams are among the best I've ever tasted, and I've been eating clams for 50+ years. Leo, the manager, remembered us from the last time we were there. He stopped by my table to chit-chat but it was clear he was very busy with customers. The gigantic bar area was filled with a big private party (30+ people) having lots of fun along with their dinners.

Provided by YP.comGreat Restaurant. Owners are very pleasant, and always keeping busy. It seems as though they are always trying to make the customers experience better. (constantly making improvements) In connecticut, there are not many places to actually eat overlooking the water, which makes this restaurant one of a kind. I would strongly recommend this restauaunt to families and couples.

Provided by YP.comYou have to be drunk to go to this place. The owners are rude and do not care about their customers. Their food is awful and overpriced and the service is good if you like being ignored and waiting an hour for your meal.

Provided by YP.comI was sitting near this crazy lady who wrote this review and complained about the chicken tenders which are awsomeee. Obivouly drunk, she was yelling at the staff about it like the world was about to end. When staff told her to get out her friends thanked them and said she does that everywhere.
Anyway the prices are good and if you think its expensive go to McDodalds.

Provided by YP.comThe only thing the Lakeview has going for it is it's location on a lake. Otherwise.... We had a veal dinner that was tough. My friend ate it because we were starving, but decided he would be nice and let the owner know that maybe there was more tough veal in the kitchen. We were not looking for any money back since we did eat it. Just trying to be nice. The owner's very arrogant responses, among other things, were 1) "Well, we've never had any complaints about the veal before", and, believe it or not, he said, 2) "Just order something else next time". Right then and there we decided there wasn't going to be a next time. So a few weeks later we go there, not to have dinner, but to listen to a band and have a couple drinks. Apparently the owner must have recognized us and decided he didn't need our business. He took our drink order and basically threw my change at me. Then we sat there ignored while trying to order another drink. My friend waved over one of the bartenders, who proceeded to scowl at us and said very, very rudely, "I have no idea what you had!". Um, ask?? So we tried to order from one last bartender, who very politely took our order and proceeded to magically forget to bring us our drinks (we believe she was instructed to "forget"). It was time to go, and never go back. I've never in my life experienced such rudeness. This owner clearly does not know the meaning of customer service and we will be telling everyone we know who goes there to not go back. Oh, and by the way, the food is very mediocre.

Provided by YP.comOrder the steamers! fresh, tasty and clean...no sand! The stuffed mushrroms are great too. Plenty of great dinners to choose from and those I've tried have not disappointed. Even when they are busy, the servers/bartenders do a great job and are polite...that means a lot to me! Salads are fresh, fresh, fresh. Owners are doing a great job bringing a great place like this to Coventry.

Provided by YP.comDining at the Lakeview has been a great experience each time dining there. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Going there on different days/nights there will be a change of staff but usually on the same day of week see the same faces...friendly and polite. The deck is nice and has smoking/non-smoking areas.
Don't miss out on this place! you will enjoy it.

Provided by YP.comI was excited to see this place reopen after many many years, particularly with it being on the water with outside seating. I was frequenting it often when I knew people who worked there, the food was "OK", nothing spectacular but quite pricey. I had looked forward to a good burger on one visit and was totally disappointed, i could not eat it at all, it did not taste or look like beef and when i told the server they just looked at me and took the plate away, never coming back to apologize nor did the owner(s) come over to apologize and they didn't even take it off my check. The outside seating is nice and they did a very nice job with the redecorating. I agree with other reviewers, the wine list is different with average prices; drinks are quite expensive and watered down. At their 'open house' they advertised 'free wine and beer and appetizers' but when you arrived they charged for the drinks, granted only $1 but they also sized down the glasses of wine to about 2 sips. Management is a dissapointment too, they don't seem to take critism well when you have a complaint about the food. Turnover seems to be great too with the staff which is not a good indication. I most likely will not return until/unless they turn things around.

Provided by YP.comMy family went out for dinner not knowing what to expect, especially after reading the bad reviews already printed. But some very picky european friends of ours gave it a thumbs up recommendation so we took a risk and brough my parents (also very worldly, well....fed folks). The shrimp scampi was amazing and the scallops deliscious. The wine list was very unique and informative. We did not sit outside becuase it was a hot night and we don't like eating bugs. It was comfortable and elegant inside. The service was attentive and gracious. I'm not sure what the people ate who did not like it, or what they are used to eating...(McDonalds definately adds sugar to everything) but we were absolutely pleased and full.

Provided by YP.comthis place has a very nice view but the food was not good at all, and still pricey. If you like salty food and uncooked pasta, this is the restaurant to go.

Provided by YP.comHaven’t been this disappointed in a restaurant in a very long time. We’ve been waiting for this place to sell and open as it should have, years ago. Was very excited to go there. The food was so-so. They didn’t know what a club sandwich was and it was on their menu. A second try at it yielded a piece of lettuce and tomato on a piece of chicken (with a tasty sauce) between two pieces of bread. It was good, don’t get me wrong….but it was in no stretch of the imagination, a “club”. The bugs outside were falling in our drinks and food. DON’T EAT OUTSIDE AT NIGHT. They used too many and the wrong kind of lights out on the deck. We had a party of four. No one liked the drinks. They were small in volume, $8 each and tasted like they had no alcohol in them at all. We tried another and it was the same. I’ve NEVER paid $8 for a small Margarita that tasted like juice. My wife had a Malibu Pineapple and it tasted like just pineapple. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. I hope they get it right before they loose all the locals and repeats. Oh…watch your step out onto the deck. Saw a few people trip. Even the staff. We’ve declared it a “beer place. They can’t water down the beer.
Signed: Very disappointed, living on Lake Wangumbaug.
