I can't say enough about the Kindergarten Ranch School. The school's owner / teacher, Mrs. Irene Leon, takes a no nonsense, old school approach to education. My children have responded well to her direct and disciplined methods and have displayed a tremendous amount of respect for her.

All children in her school perform well above their grade levels in the basic subjects. Of equal or possibly greater value, is the vast education the children receive in the areas of geography and cultural literacy! The kids are most eager to learn about and are fascinated by the big world that surrounds them. The students are also well versed in all current events, whether political, scientific or noteworthy international news.

Furthermore, Mrs. Leon does an exemplary job of teaching the children world history. On the anniversary of important dates, she provides material and helps the students understand the historic people and events that have shaped the course of humanity.

Mrs. Leon is an accomplished pianist and most knowledgeable with respect to classical music. It is absolutely wonderful that my children are taught about the great composers and are exposed to the classics. They have developed an affinity for classical music. My oldest daughter currently takes piano lessons from Mrs. Leon after school.

I must also acknowledge her hard working, devoted assistant teacher, Miss Mimi. She is excellent with the children and does an exceptional job in the areas of mathematics and arts and crafts.

The students also take numerous field trips during the course of the year. Destinations include, but are not limited to, the Natural History Museum, the Nixon Library, performances at the Bridges Auditorium, the Huntington Library, the Mission Inn during the Christmas season, and the Insect Fair at Cal Poly. All of them are highly educational and Mrs. Leon prepares the children by providing a plethora of background information beforehand. The field trips are awesome and a great way to share memorable experiences with your kids if time provides.

I feel very fortunate to be able to give my children the intimate, high level, private educational experience than Kindergarten Ranch provides. Above all, Mrs. Leon and Miss Mimi love the children. The kids know it and respond tremendously!
