I hired a companion/sitter because I needed someone to drive me to the hospital, wait while I had surgery, and drive me back home. She arrived 10 minutes late and parked down the street from my house. She spent the next five minutes getting out her phone charger, looking up driving directions, finding a device to attach the phone to the dashboard, filling out paperwork, and locating a second cell phone. I was 15 minutes late getting to the hospital. She did not know that I needed someone with me in the hospital. She let me off at the front entrance and went to park the van. When they put the bracelet on me and told me to go to the surgery area, I had to go to the parking lot to get her. Before she could accompany me into the hospital, she had to smoke a cigarette, make a phone call, and rearrange papers in the front seat. The nurses took me to the back for vitals first. When the nurses asked her to come into my room, she remained in the waiting room. After surgery she drove me home but offered no assistance getting into the van, getting out of the van, or climbing the 7 steps to my front door even though I was wearing a cast after the surgery. She did however, offer to put a 6 inch plastic step at the bottom of the 3 foot drop from the van to the yard. She left the hospital several times while I was in surgery in order to drive other patients, In short, I paid $80 for a ride to the hospital. Uber or Lyft would have done the same work for $40. The advantage of Uber an Lyft over this company is that Uber and Lyft tell you the name of the driver who will pick you up. This driver never even bothered to introduce herself.
