May be a nice place for Tae Kwon Do, but NOT if you have more than one child! I was excited to put my very athletic 5 year old into Tae Kwon Do, which he had been begging for for a long time. We signed up for the two week trial, with every intention of being in it for the long haul. I hesitate to say anything about the teaching, since as we just had our 3rd lesson. HOWEVER, I brought my son, as well as his older sister and younger brother to the three classes. In class #2, I was told my 2 year old needed to not be on the mat floors, even though there was 10-15 feet between the closest student and the edge where he was standing (there is a very narrow aisle around the exercise floor where there are chairs). Ok, fine, I'll keep him off, no problem. Today, in class #3, my daughter was coloring, and my 2 year old placed 2 very small toys right on the edge of the mats. Again, I was told to keep him off the mat. Fifteen minutes later, my 2 year old was standing 6-12 inches away from the edge of the mat (not on or touching the mat). Master Kim walked over to me, and told me to get my son away from the mats, and that this was a "parent observation area, NOT a play area" and that I could not come back with my children because they are disruptive to the class. I couldn't bring my two children who were being quiet, entertaining themselves, but not sitting on my lap silently and motionless! He said this loudly, angrily, and in from of 15 other parents. I was completely shocked and embarrassed! The woman next to me told me if he had spoken to her like that, she'd grab her kids and leave immediately. Other parents likewise spoke their incredulity. I told them that Master Kim is free to make any rules he wants for his classes, but this is not the place for any real parent who may need to bring actual siblings to wait during the class. Find somewhere else!
