My wife and I have been married for 26 years with 2 children and have been in the same home for the last 21 of those years. I was expecting complete and total chaos when we went to refinance last year, since the rates are so low it just seems like everyone is doing it - so I was doubtful that we would find somewhere that didn't make us feel like we were pulling teeth to get ourselves on track. No mortgage is ever really going to be smooth sailing but it was actually pretty painless all things concidered- everyone was friendly and courteous, every little detail of it all didn't take up every second of my time which was nice as well. I ended up saving a little over 480.00/month too which is nice when you have 2 kids still at home. Overall - I give them a definite thumbs up

It is no surprise that Allied Home Mortgage Corporation in Cranston, RI is being sued by the U.S. Government as reported in The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/02/business/us-sues-allied-home-mortgage-over-lending-practices.html). After several attempts to get paperwork with correct figures, addresses and interest rates, how he stated that he was going to save me close to $400.00/month. And every time new paperwork would be delivered there was something else wrong on it and the money I was supposed to be saving would decrease to below $300.00/month.

I decided not to go forward with the loan. The agent that I was working with, Ken O’Brien, decided to call me innumerable times even though I told him that I would call him. He even stated in one voice mail that he would continue to call me, “probably, a hundred more times”, and many times he called without leaving messages. When he did finally speak to me and I told him that I was no longer interested in the loan, he told me to “F%#@ Off!” and then hung up the phone.

The new bank I am working with is saving me almost $700.00/month!
