Despicable and Deplorable Customer Service

Very insulting and insensitive remarks about my engagement ring my husband helped design 30 years ago. Insulting and degrading remarks about the jewelry I came in to sell as well.

The most arrogant and condescending customer service I have EVER experienced. From other reviews I've read, I may have even been ripped off as well.

I wanted to take a shower after I left. The show room was empty both times I had the misfortune to visit.

Please send a message to this business by reading the reviews on Yelp and YP sites, and make it your business to not do business with people whose behavior is deplorable!

Very strange

I don't have anything horrible to say about this store accept I guess they don't like money ... I have only been there one time in my life (yesterday). I brought in 22 gold filled chains purchased over the years . I collect solid gold chains, bars ect but wanted to get rid of the filled and plated pieces I have accumulated.. So I brought in the chains which he brought to the back to weigh ( nice guy btw), think his name was Mike.. He informed me that they were only plated and were worth $20 for everything .. He said "if they were gold filled it would be worth 10 times that"... Well after going to the next store in Pawtucket it turns out they were worth 16 times more than $20 so he wasn't far off aside from not knowing that all 22 were in fact GF and not plated.. $320 isn't a ton of money but it's more than $20.. Not sure if he was hoping to get them for the $20 or what but either way Roman jewelers lost out on that one ....

I purchased my wife's engagement ring from Roman Jewelers in 2011. I shopped around for months and only at their store I found something as uniqe and beautiful as my wife's ring!!! It is a truly uniqe job and every jeweler that looks at this ring is amazed at how amazing the ring is with all stones and setting.

Roman Jewelers offers competitive pricing in the area and I would strongly recommend coming to them and seeing what they have to offer. If you do not like their selection on their displays, you can always ask them about what else they have to offer. They can help you get any jewelry you wish for at the very reasonable price.

They are always willing to hep you in any ways possible and Vlad and Elena are very personable and nice people. Everyone has good and bad experiences and has set prices set in their mind. If they charge more compared to another jeweler in the area, it doesn't mean they are bad! I would strongly recommend buying from them.

Keep in mind that they service their jewelry as long as you own it!!! I have been back several times to clean nd resize my wife's engagement ring and they do it quickly and professionally! and FREE!!!

I am very thankful and grateful for the service Vlad and Elena provided me with and keep providing me with every time I come into their store.

I am a serious jewelry collect...

I am a serious jewelry collector. I am not in the jewelry business. In that I mostly collect rare and unusual gems, and set them in fine jewelry I purchase at wholesale prices, a neighborhood jewelry store such as this does not appeal to me as far as its retail inventory is concerned. The few times I visited Roman Jewelers were for minor repairs or modifications to pieces in my existing collection. It was convenient for me as I live nearby. So I cannot speak to the quality of their pieces. Although I don't think they sell very much, as the pieces in their showcases never turnover and I've never known anyone to shop there. I think they make their money buying gold at ridiculously low prices.

In any event, I CAN speak to the deplorable, abhorrant, insulting manner in which these people treat their customers. Vlad is the most dreadful, poorly mannered, unpleasant, unprofessional, condescending, disagreeable individual I have ever had the misfortune of meeting in my ENTIRE life. There aren't enough negative adjectives in my vocabulary to describe this cretin. There were no specific incidents between us that would explain his shameful mistreatment of me; I merely gave him business when I could have gone elsewhere. But I got the impression they were unhappy with the fact that I was not buying their overpriced retail jewelry (or underselling my gold) and only "using them" for their bench jeweler services, although this was never said. If they didn't want to do the work, they could have just told me as much and I would have happily taken my business elsewhere. Or maybe they just didn't like the way I looked... I'm not sure, but the way I was treated the last time I was there was utterly humiliating and completely degrading. When Vlad isn't shooting nasty looks your way or talking about you in another language to his embarrassed minion, he's just simply treating you badly in English. You'd think I were asking for an organ as opposed to paying them money for a service. Unbelievable.

I am the easiest, most friendly, respectful person to deal with (I work in customer service myself, and I thoroughly enjoy my job and value my clients). I can't imagine how they would treat a "difficult" customer! Actually, maybe they would treat that type of person better? Certainly, they felt they could walk all over someone like me. I can honestly say that I have never been treated so poorly in my life... especially not while paying good money for it.

I was so incensed by Vlad's behavior that I felt the need to write this scathing (but truthful) review, which is a first for me. Although it feels good to get this off my chest and give a heads up to any unsuspecting would-be customers, I'm not happy to have to do this. I'm not an angry person and I don't like to speak in this manner. But I will continue to spread the word to every single person I know on this earth who could have even the slightest, infinitesimal speck of a chance of doing business with these people in the future. You'll see this review over and over again on every consumer website I can find.

As a side note, while venting to a neighbor who is in the jewelry business (now retired), he told me of a bad experience he had with Roman Jewelers as well. He actually had a problem with a replacement "diamond" they set in a tennis bracelet for him. The matter is ongoing. And I'm going to leave it at that.

Please, please do not give these people your business or your hard earned money. They don't deserve it. Needless to say... I certainly won't be going back. In fact, I have already found a new jeweler who's working out beautifully. And I implore you to do the same.

Hello Gina, I know exactly who you are. Every time you would come to our store you were treated properly and with respect. It is your choice to like us or not. Hopefully as a "serious jewelry collector" you have a right to pick a jeweler. There are many good jewelers in RI. Thank you

Rip Off!!!

BEWARE!!! I heard their ad in the radio claiming that they give high prices for your gold, so I brought my 24K gold necklace that weighs 19 grams there to see what I can get for it. They told me it's worth $460. What a rip off!!! The price of gold these days is around $1400 per ounce. If you do the math my necklace is worth $950. I went to Phnom Penh jewelers down the street and they gave me $875 for my necklace a much better deal. I know every business wants to make a profit but Roman Jewelers is a rip off.

We do not advertise selling gold on the radio, nor are we any where close to the jeweler you mentioned. It is a shame that someone who is clearly mistaken has the ability to write a review that could be harmful to our business. For more information about Roman Jewelers in Flemington & Bridgewater, NJ, please stop in, see our website or call us. Thanks.
