Founded in 1928, Cromwell Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency services for the town of Cromwell, Conn. Its services include fire prevention, emergency preparedness, public safety education, emergency medical services and inspections and enforcement of adopted fire codes. Its equipment consist of trucks, front line pumpers, tankers, grass and light rescue rigs, heavy rescues, ambulances, boats and various utility vehicles. It sponsors a career development program for students that include instructions in fire safety, operations, procedures, guidelines, fire tactics and medical service operations. It organizes various fundraising events and has received several awards and honors.
