In 1996, Nonnie Cameron Owens retired from a 32-year career in the airline industry. Among her other careers, she served 12 years as a fraternity housemother at SMU in Dallas and Purdue University in West Lafayette, 7 years as a columnist for the Journal and Courier in Lafayette, Indiana, and 7 years as a college speaker for CAMPUSPEAK, Inc in Denver.She is a member of the Chi Omega Alumnae Association at Purdue, Order of Omega, American Airlines Flight Attendant Hall of Fame, and Strathmores Whos Who for American Business Women. In June of 2003 she was commissioned by the Governor and the Commonwealth of Kentucky to be an official Kentucky Colonel. She resides in Punta Gorda, Florida where she is married to retired Navy Captain Bruce Owens.Because she is passionate about the topic of etiquette, Nonnie accepts invitations mainly for college students.
