I dont understand these reviews. I have used Value Cleaners for quite some time and they have always done a great job. I recently had an issue with the cleaners and because of the experience I am giving them five stars and posting this review. I took in an expensive dress that was ruined. I had taken it there before along with numerous other things over the years that turned out great. Everyone makes mistakes, but what is important is how they are handled when a mistake does happen. The owner Vernetta Jones, called me immediately. She was apologetic, and it was obvious that she felt terrible about what had happened. She took full responsibility and told me she would turn in a claim for reimbursement of the dress. This was a 200.00 dress. The claim check came back for less as depreciation is factored in. Because of this, she instead wrote me a personal check for the full amount of the dress. Although I was very upset that the dress was ruined, I was appreciative that she understood my feelings and did everything in her power as the owner to rectify her employees mistake. In this day in age there are few business owners who stand behind their services and put their customers first. I will continue to use Value Cleaners and recommend them. I choose to support local businesses that are owned by people with integrity, that are honest and take responsibility when sometimes things go wrong. Vernetta Jones is one of those people.

This place is a LOSER. I will never use it again. My wife and I have had three expensive sweaters destroyed by their poor quality workmanship. When we returned with the damaged sweaters we went through lengthy negotiations to get our money back for the cleaning services only. Recently we returned a London Fog overcoat which they had broken the liner's zipper on and was told that the owner would not speak to us and that he felt that it was damaged before it was turned in. When the clerk was asked how we could have unzipped the liner to turn it in for cleaning she responded that "she didn't do it." She advised us that she actually received no pay for working there and that she only was there as a favor to the owner. This business is a basket case. I strongly recommend you seek another cleaner in the area.

Never again! Cannot speak for dry cleaning services, but get your alterations done somewhere else. I had to come back 4 times to get my pants fixed. They were still not the correct inseam and they claim it's the material (even though they had another pair just like that and were able to get that one right!). I went to Sophie's Alterations on the square and they were able to fix them the first time around. Also, as the other review mentioned, there is one employee there that is very rude and acts like she is doing YOU a favor by taking your clothes in.
