WaterEngineers, Inc History D. Ray Young opened his consulting engineering company as Ray Young & Associates in September of 1994. Armed with twenty-three years of experience designing medium to large-sized municipal wastewater treatment plants, Young began building a specialty firm capable of handling medium sized municipal wastewater treatment plant design projects. Prior to starting Ray Young & Associates, Young gained his experience working on several major projects, such as the 8 MGD City of Houston Intercontinental Airport Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant through a subcontract with another engineering firm. In addition, Young served as the project manager for the Houston Water Master Plan (HWMP) for the City of Houston while employed by Metcalf & Eddy. In January 2000, the firm name Ray Young & Associates was changed to WaterEngineers, Inc The purpose of the name change and incorporation was to establish an organization that would provide the mechanism to bring qualified engineering associates into the ownership of the business. The company name, WaterEngineers, Inc, reflects the special expertise of the firm and it's commitment in the municipal water supply and wastewater treatment and reclamation fields. The mission of WaterEngineers is to become a recognized provider of quality consulting engineering services for small to medium sized public and private utility clients. To do this we must provide quality services in the best interests of its clients for a fair cost, and provide our employees with the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed. We pledge to use sound engineering principles, integrity and respect to guide us in providing these services. WaterEngineers, Inc HIstory
