Provided by YP.comMy 85 year old grandmother bought and paid for in cash a home in this new neighborhood three weeks ago. The homeowner's association did not secure a waste collection company for the community and as of this date (02/06/09) still has not done so. I called to request an explanation as to why this is the case and was told I would receive a return call from the president of the HOA Patti Tine. Patti never did return my call so, I called back to speak to her. She informed me that someone would be meeting with a trash collection company over lunch and would be signing a contract and that she'd give me a call after lunch. 12:00, 1:00, 2:00 all passed with no call. At 3:00, I called her obviously irritated and angry. Patti informed me that the lunch had been cancelled and that no contract had been signed but that someone would be speaking to the company or something... to be honest I wasn't able to really pay attention to what she was saying because I was enraged. Never was an apology given for the ineptitude that has been displayed by selling homes to people that had no means of trash collection. What I did receive was a large display of aggravation that I was asking for answers and solutions to the trash problem. Its now 11:01and I still have not heard anything from Patti. I've received no answers as to what will be done in the meantime until they enter into a contract with a collection company and I do not believe than an answer to that question is being sought out. I think it offensive, dismissive, rude, insensitive, and shameful to behave in this manner when the standard of the community is to be set by this person who apparently didnt mind if the homes had 3 weeks worth of trash displayed in front of them. I wonder what would have happened if the homeowners had piled the trash in front of the homes of this brand spanking new development and discouraged additional buyers... it'd probably be important to have trash pick up then or if it all showed up in front of her home I'm sure Patti would then understand the frustation that might develop if no trash collection was available.
At the time of this complaint, Preferred Management Services had just recently obtained the management contract for this community. This newly developed community only had two or three completed houses on the ground. We attempted to explain that the developer had already been negotiating a contract with the trash provider at the time we were contracted. While the developer was not able to make the scheduled meeting at noon to sign the contract, the contract was signed later that afternoon. Preferred Management Services did contact all owners that day once the contract was finalized and the provider confirmed that they would be out the next day to collect their waste. All contracts are signed by Board members and/or developers only.
