Advanced Placement Strategies, launched in 2000 by an individual donor, is a nonprofit corporation that works with Texas schools and the private sector to maximize the number of students passing Advanced Placement exams by planning, implementing and managing pre-AP and AP Incentive Programs, within the state of Texas. AP is a program of the College Board in which high school teachers teach college level courses to high school students. Research has shown that the four-year graduation rate for college freshmen increases from 50 percent to 80 percent for those who participate in one AP course. Advanced Placement Strategies is based in Dallas.
