Sidney A. Kelt, Jr. M.D is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Texas A&M College of Medicine—Dallas, Campus. He also serves as the Psychiatry Clerkship Executive Director for the Texas A&M College of Medicine and provides clinical teaching and lectures to Texas A&M medical students at Thorntree Psychiatric Associates. Dr. Kelt completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with High Distinction and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Kelt completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his Psychiatry Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and served as Chief Resident during his final year of training. He remained on faculty at UTSWMC for one year as an instructor and served as the Assistant Medical Director of the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital Dr. Kelt is certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been in active clinical practice in Dallas for 34 years. He has served as the Medical Director of two Adolescent Psychiatry Units at two local hospitals. He also served as the Psychiatric Consultant for the Texas Baptist Home for Children in Waxahachie, Texas caring for the mental health needs of foster children. Dr. Kelt practices General Adult Psychiatry. His practice includes the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, obsessive –compulsive disorders, and PTSD. He has a continuing special interest in the diagnoses and treatment of mood disorders/ADHD in the adolescent population. His focus includes psychopharmacologic and psychotherapeutic measures as well as contemporary treatment modalities to include Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation as well as nasal esketamine (Spravato).
