Raising the bar for a poke restaurant, Jon Alexis (owner of Dallas's Best Seafood, TJ's Seafood), teamed up with Matt McCallister (FT33, Homewood) to open Malibu Poke in 2017. With fresh seafood delivered daily, partnerships with local farmers, and sauces made in-house, Malibu Poke offers both signature recipes as well as build your own bowl options. Ordering takes place on a hi-tech kiosk that shows you images of the food. Ordered one of the tuna bowls with a mix base nice option), medium size (explained quite well on the monitor): not bad at all, taste as good as any other good poke you’ve ever had.

Interesting “McDonald’s” style order at a terminal yourself concept: considering how fed up the staff behind the line appeared this lunchtime.
Not even a smile or acknowledgement from the staffer whom I asked to help me decipher their “where to grab my cup and ice for the iced tea” game.

Oh well.
