Provided by YP.comBefore opening our Restaurant / Bar I had to decide on which POS system to use. I've used several POS systems in the past including Micros and Aloha, and spent nearly a month researching and going through all the sales pitches from various companies. In the end I chose Oceanside. In fact, it wasn't even a hard decision.
For those of you looking to open a retail business or even upgrade an existing one, understand one primary thing. A POS System is one of the most expensive items that you'll need to get. That said, also understand that most POS systems out there aren't worth the paper that's printed out of them.
Paying $20,000 to $50,000 for a POS system would break the bank for most small businesses. Most POS companies like to make think you need to spend that much to get an efficient system. I knew better, and ignored 95% of the fables they were spewing.
We chose Oceanside for five main reasons:
1) The system rocks. It's stable and it does what we want it to do. Period.
2) You don't have to take out a second mortgage to buy it.
3) It uses the highest PCI Compliance (Many other POS companies don't)
4) It's updated & upgraded automatically (Guess what the others charge for that)
5) The CEO of the company is also the Designer! Who else can claim that?
OK, that's my review. And, if you think this is all fluff, then come to our establishment, and I'll tell you the same thing in person.

Provided by YP.comWhen we started looking for a software company my goal was to find a business that would be a partner. I have meet so many companies that are only intrested in the one sale. I wanted a company that will grow and change with me. I wanted a long term commitment. I found it with Oceanside. When I pass my restaurant to my son, I know he will have a team behind him that understands the our past and will work with him on his future.

Provided by YP.comOceanside POS system is by far the best in the country. The transition from our old system to Oceanside was done with very little difficulty. The system is very user friendly. We barely had to train our staff how to use it. We have open communication with Jason, the software designer, and he responds to any questions or issues in a timely manner. He is very attentive to our individual needs so we really do have a one of a kind system. He is constantly creating and updating so in ten years(when we are still with Oceanside) we won't feel like we are in the stone age. I will recommend Oceanside to anyone wanting to update their POS systems.

Hello Rob, As always we do appreciate feedback, but I can tell you that your comment has no backing evidence at this time. Oceanside POS (R) was released in 2009 in its Alpha state. We released the beta version in July of 2010, then the release candidate in Feb. 2011 and once we got word from the PCI Standards Council that our software was certified at PA-DSS 2.0 we released our production version in the first week of August 2011. As a software company (not just a point-of-sale company) we are extremely methodical about how we take our products to market. During the Alpha and Beta stages of the software, your comments would have been no doubt true. However, the customers that we ran alpha, beta and release candidates with were all well aware they were part of a test program. Now we are proud to say that we have a solid product. We have exhibited at the National Restaurant Association, the Texas Restaurant Association, are certified with the Retail Service Providers Association, have obtained PA-DSS 2.0 and have numerous installs that are running smoothly. Oceanside POS ® actually sends any errors that may occur back to our offices automatically for us to analyze. There have been no issues found in any of those log files. We offer a 3-Year hardware warranty, are priced competitively and have a solid relationship with all of our customers. I am positive that you are not a customer of ours because we talk to them all of the time. I have 12 years in the POS industry and I know that customers are searching for a quality product, great support and integrity from their POS provider. I've met and Jason and researched his company over the past few months and have come to the conclusion that when it comes to quality in a product and support that will not be matched, this company will not be easily beat.
