The Official Lou Rawls Fan Club is a privately held corporation that is dedicated to the furtherance and remembrance of Lou Rawls and his music, the continuance of the singing of Lou Rawls and other tunes by recording artist/entertainer Lon Dorsey (long time friend of Lou Rawls, also who looks and sounds much like Lou Rawls).

The original Lou Rawls Fan Club was created in Dallas, Texas by Mr. Dorsey in 2003. This club is the official extension of the original club, and can be found presently on Facebook, hosted by President/CEO Lon Dorsey and Lou Rawls' first child Kendra Rawls-Smith.

The fan club is still in its infantile stages and is growing daily in members and numbers of fans.

This is the real fan club for Lou Rawls in the U.S.

This is really great fan club there are many big night big celebrities friends of Lou Rawls and his family it's a great club to join you see the real people who made a difference the new Lou Rawls personally for many years. The people are also friendly it's easy to join and they are working on building a tribute to Lou Rawls Performance Hall in the Dallas Fort Worth area. This is really great you owe it to yourself to join this club is the actual official Lou Rawls fan club .

Associations: The first Lou Rawls Fan Club of record was started by Lon Dorsey in 1975 in Dallas Texas at Charlie Gamblos' Oyster Bar Restaurant in Downtown Dallas, where Lon did live performing with the jukebox in the "Shell Lounge" upstairs above the restaurant which was run by relative uncle Buddy Gilstrap. From there when the Oyster Bar closed, Lon started doing Lou Rawls Tributes in 1977 at the Plush Pup Club located at 3100 Grand Avenue in Dallas, Tx. He also did performances of Lou Rawls music at the famous Green Parrot Club after hours, located on Forest Avenue (now MLK, Jr. Blvd) in Dallas, Texas. Lon and Lou Rawls became friends in the late 1970's and were seen together numerous times at restaurants and performances. Fans marveled at how much the two men favored facially and how they sounded alike too. Lon became a close friend of Lou Rawls, and the two talked on the phone frequently, Lou Rawls provided free box seats to Lon any time that he requested, and Lon and Lou became just like family. Lon is also like family with much of Lou's family to this day, and everybody loves Lon! Lon Dorsey is also the premiere singer of Lou Rawls music in the U.S. overall for many years, exclusively. In other words, Lou Rawls music is the only artist that he's done for decades, as everyone knows. This has placed him in a wonderful position for his caring about the music of Lou for so long.
