Dr. Paul Pierce is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with additional training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery practicing in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Pierce is a native Texan. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Biology. He then attended The University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he graduated with the added prestige of AOA membership election and the Hitoshi Nikaidoh MD Award for Humanism in Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Pierce matched into an integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, widely considered one of the most competitive fields in the country. After a 6-year Plastic Surgery residency, he chose to pursue additional fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at NYU. Dr. Pierce is experienced in all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His training has provided the expertise to deal with complex injuries and deformities throughout the body. His clinical interests include facial reconstruction following tumor or trauma, breast reconstruction, lower extremity reconstruction, and hand/upper extremity surgery. Dr. Pierces additional training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery allows him to treat many complex disorders of the hand, wrist, and forearm. Conditions that Dr. Pierce treats include, but are not limited to: peripheral nerve injuries and compression syndromes (carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel); fractures and dislocations of the hand, wrist, and forearm; tendon lacerations, trigger fingers, tendonitis, arthritis, Dupuytrens, and ganglions. Dr. Pierce is also experienced in microsurgical procedures and is regularly consulted for replantation (reattaching an amputated body part). Dr. Pierce also trained with experts in congenital hand surgery and is capable of reconstructing difficult congenital hand anomalies (syndactyly, polydactyly, thumb hypoplasia/duplication, radial club hand, etc).
