Based on our experience thus far, I would concur 100% with the other reviewers. The promotion co. that called us on behalf of Royal Palm did acknowledge there was a sales pitch, but "just to get their name out there for future business". The "pitch" was mildly interesting, but not good for our situation. They ran three different sales associates at us after the presentation, each with a slightly more enticing offer. My biggest complaint though is the severe limitations placed of the "free" travel award. First, they require a $50-$75 per person travel deposit (some are refundable, some not depending on the offer). Second, after the promotion co. said we could travel anywhere is the contental US and some areas in Canada, Carribean, Mexico and we have 1-year to take the travel, the fine print of the contract says you MUST provide 3 destination choices and 3 different travel dates (that cannot be within 45 days of each other), you also can't travel 7 days before or after a holiday (even minor ones like Columbus or President's day). They say they will attempt to accomodate our request in priority order, but ultimately it's at the descretion of travel company Royal Palm has partnered with for these packages. They say you must depart on a Monday or Tuesday and the departures are typically between 3PM and 9PM...return flights typically leave between 6am and 1pm. SO, regardless of how long your stay is, one of your nights accomodation could be a midnight check-in based on flight schedule and duration. Another night could include checking out early enough for a 6 am departure. In following the guidelines asked of me as a reviewer, the main thing I would suggest for this company to improve is to be more open and honest about the severe limitations of their offers....of course, knowing this ahead of time, I would never have wasted 2-3 hours or a Friday night sitting through the pitch.

Travel Club - Royal Palm

This is basically a travel club. They compared it to Sam's where you pay a fee and then

get to buy at "cost". They offer very little evidence that you can really save money other

than their words. At first, they want you to pay $7995 for a platinum membership and tell

you that it can be willed/sold/transferred. I am not sure what the diff. is between selling

and transferring. I asked where was the secondary market and they had no answer.



My wife and I had a six o'clock appt. and came directly from work with nothing to eat.

We were told there would be snacks and a cash bar. They had only water and maybe

coffee. They promised my wife two free air ticket to any airport in the US, $30 dinner

card and $150 gas voucher, and also a $300 grocery coupon.



I got bad vibes from the slick (but interesting presentation) and declined. Next, a second

salesman came to our table and asked us what we thought and I told him it wasn't for

us. He then offered us the $7995 Platinum package for $2999, as there were sometimes

deals that "came back" when people lost thier jobs. At this point, I was pretty sure that

my suspicions were 100% right on. I told him I would pass.



When we left, the lady got our Name and Address and said she would mail us the "full

package" -- I assume what was promised us. I will know in a few days/weeks what

they will do, but will not be too surprised if they mail us nothing. My experience is

that any time you get a travel voucher from one of these marketing cos., is that it is

basically worthless due to the severe restrictions. I doubt we will see anything of

any tangible value. This was not my idea to go, and I went anyway to appease my

wife.



I honestly believe that this sort of deal is the worst of the worst, and possibly maybe

even worse than timeshares. JMO

The company that Royal Palm us...

The company that Royal Palm uses to promote their presentations uses questionable sales tactics. I asked the girl three times if they were selling anything in their presentations and was told there was no buying or selling or obligation. I was not given a very straight answer until I pressed her. After not feeling she was truthful I declined her free travel offer. I also learned that my spouse had to be there too. My spouse did not want to go. I was then told I wasted her time and was unprofessional. Scott Thomas

Broken Promises

This organization offers free gas/trips for attending their seminars.

They sell memberships to their club which purchase unused hotel space and airline fares.

It sounds good and they offer very good discounts, but membership fees and annual fees make it

a questionable savings if you only take one or two trips a year or less.

My complaint is about the companies they use to offer free gifts for sitting thru one of Royal Palms' presentation.

Three months now and going on four that I have not received any gas or hotel vouchers.
