The University Park Police Department is a full-service, community-oriented law enforcement agency that works to preserve peace, deter crime, and maintain law and order. It operates an animal control division that undertakes issues related to animal bites, barking dogs and missing animals, as well as relocates stray animals. The department also maintains communication and dispatch center that answers police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency calls.
