WFAA-TV, headquartered in Dallas, is a news channel owned by Belo Corp. It is the flagship television station of Belo that owns stations in various markets, including Seattle and Tacoma, Wash., Phoenix, New Orleans, Houston, and San Antonio and Austin, Texas. In addition to the Dallas Morning News, Belo also owns The Providence Journal, one of the nation s oldest newspapers, and the Press Enterprise in Riverside, Calif. WFAA has won numerous industry awards, including three George Foster Peabody Awards and eight duPont Columbia University Awards. In addition, it has won the USC Annenberg Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in television political journalism.
