Armor All Products Corporation is a subsidiary of The Clorox Company, a leading manufacturer and marketer of consumer products with fiscal year 2005 revenues of nearly $4.5 billion. Amour All develops and distributes a variety of automobile care and cleaning products, such as protective wipes, leather care products, auto glass cleaners, waxes, and tire and wheel care products. The company s history dates to 1962 when a 21-year-old polymer chemist, Joe Palcher, invented a milky-white miracle formula to protect rubber, plastic and vinyl surfaces from ultraviolet radiation and ozone. In 1972, Alan Rypinski, a marketing specialist and automotive enthusiast, secured the product s exclusive sales rights, formed a new company called Armor All and renamed the product Armor All Protectant.
