We are a traditional Halau, Polynesian School of Performance Arts, teaching the dances, chants, drumming and music of Hawaii and Tahiti. Our mission is to perpetuate these cultures and enrich the lives of our students through the values, practices and traditions of our school. We are located in Danville, California, in the East Bay along the 680 corridor. Kumu Catherine U ilani Blankenship is the great-granddaughter of Hawaiian composer Henry Kailimai, studied with Auntie Esther Correa, the first Kumu to teach on the Mainland, and currently is studying under the guidance of Loea Kawaikapuokalani Hewett.
