I will not ever go to an American Family Care again! There are much better Urgent care centers in Daphne. The wait times are ridiculous. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get out of there, and there were only two or three other patients. It was not busy. The place seemed a little dirty, and I could tell they didn't really clean the room they put me in. Someone else had clearly been sitting on that white paper on the exam table before me. They failed to call my prescription into the pharmacy, so when I went to pick it up, it wasn't available. AFC was closed, so I had to wait for my medications, and call the next day to get them sent over, and drive back to the pharmacy to finally get my prescriptions filled. The entire experience was frustrating!!

I liked the doctor I saw, Dr. Lawrence, and thought she was knowledgeable. THEN I tried to get the prescription filled. Basically, I went to three different pharmacies and was told the same thing about the prescription she wrote for a 'new' pain reliever. It is basically Rx strength Ibuprofen with a touch of antihistamine. Nothing special and the insurance companies won't cover it. Apparently, there are some kickbacks with that drug? One of the pharmacists let me know she refuses to rewrite prescriptions for something less expensive or covered by insurance. Gee Thanks. Hope she enjoys her free trips to Cancun!

Unorganized and dirty. The do...

Unorganized and dirty. The doctor ran too many tests, they are clearly trying to get as much out of your insurance company as they can. My visit was not filed correctly and they refused to correct their error. I will never go to an American Family Care clinic again.

Is this a public health care clinic?

Go Somewhere else.

My husband is in the military and one of the few perks that come along with it, besides the steady paycheck, is the awesome heath care coverage. Upon arriving at a new station you are given a new Primary Care Manager who sees you for all your basic needs and refers you out to other practices as needed. The PCM that I was given was Dr. Lawrence at American Family Care. Although the facility was clean and appeared nice, the front desk staff lacked any care or concern and certainly weren't welcoming. I had to wait about an hour to vist the Doctor who was also very short with me and spent all of 3 minutes in the room with me. She did not listen to my concerns and was not helpful at all. I did'nt know if my appointment was finished or not. She just left the room and a nurse gave me my file. I took it to the front desk where a woman took it and I waited patiently. After about 2 minutes the same woman came back to me and said "Oh, you can go". No "have a nice day, see ya later", nothing. I can only assume that this is some type of public health care system. Patients deserve kindness and respect; both of which were lacking at this health care facility.
