Hinsdale South High School is a four-year comprehensive high school and is a part of Hinsdale School District 86. Enrollment at the school is more than 1,800 students. It offers education to students in grades nine through 12. The school offers honors courses in various science subjects, including biology, chemistry, and earth, physical and environmental science. Hinsdale South High School also offers math classes in algebra, practical geometry, trigonometry, statistics and consumer mathematics. Additionally, the school provides elective courses that include accounting, symphonic band, concert orchestra, art history, music theory and studio art. The school has a media center library that offers a large research database, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias and professional resources. Its sports activities include football, hockey, tennis, wrestling, soccer and hockey. Hinsdale South High School is a member of the North Central Association and is located in Darien, Ill.
