My parents forced me attend AHS after prior education in public schools with the expectation of a super education. I was not then, and am not now Catholic. Now, many years later, I continue to view that "faith" as a childish sperstition. At AHS I was treated by classmates and teachers as an infidel and smart ass for not conforming to that belief system. Then, as now, I resent being forced into that environment. The faculty and administration were narrow minded and did not foster the values of independent and scientific thought or accepting cultural diversity and other attributes it claims to champion. I made no attempt to make friendships or engage in activities. My parents even forced me to attend my graduation. Years later, I can not think of a single positive thing to say about the school. Despite those miserable years, I went on to secular colleges and universities and obtained my doctorate. I am a thoughtful and valued person in my community and have not raised my children to be generous, kind, honest and not be superstitious sheep.
