Still Learning

I lived in the Chicago Suburbs for a couple of years and Noodles was one of my favorite places to visit. The service was good, the food was great and the price was fair. I was so excited to hear that the Quad Cities was getting one in Davenport! We visited there Tuesday night - the day after it opened. We stood at the counter for several minutes before we were assisted. All of the 6 or 7 employees were huddled together, talking and facing away from us. No one seemed to notice we were there waiting to place our order. I knew what I wanted immediately since I had eaten there many times before. I always get the herb buttered noodles. I ordered that and my fiancee ordered the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese - also good. We are both vegetarians and appreciate the meatless choices. We were each asked if we wanted chicken on our meal - I know it's an upsell tactic that is probably required but if I wanted chicken I would have said so when I ordered. Anyway, after a miniscule wait our food arrived. Where were my herbs on my buttered herb noodles???? There weren't any. That was a little disappointing. In addition to the noodles we also requested flatbread. It arrived at our table nice and warm....but with no butter. So I had to go up and ask for it because it was not readily available. While I was waiting a few of the "Noodles" franchise guys (?) were standing there observing the flow of the new restaurant. Once came over right away to see if I was being helped (not sure where they were when we first arrived and had to wait). A second guy stopped by our table in the middle of the meal - just to make sure all was ok and if we were happy. I expressed my pleasure that Noodles had finally arrived in the QC! In summary the first visit was a little rocky but the food was still great and I'm looking forward to visiting again soon!
