Swiss Valley Farms Company is a four-state cooperative owned and controlled by more than 1,000 dairy producers. Swiss Valley Farms operates a milk-bottling plant in Dubuque, Iowa, and a cultured products plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The company also has cheese manufacturing plants in Luana, Iowa, and Mindoro and Platteville, Wis., and a cheese packaging plant in St. Olaf, Iowa. Swiss Valley Farms operates a wholly-owned subsidiary, Rochester Cheese, with plants in Dalbo, Rochester and Spring Valley, Minn. The company has an agricultural services division with locations throughout eastern Iowa that distribute farm inputs such as fertilizer, feed and farm hardware to members. The company has a women s program called The Swiss Valley Gals. This program was designed by a small group of cooperative women who wanted an organization to present other female members with Farm Business Off the Farm. Swiss Valley Farms serves the Upper Midwest from its headquarters in Davenport, Iowa.
