Provided by YP.comMy daughter bought a 2003 Taurus from Reynolds Motor in the Quad Cities. Three weeks later, the transmission went out and they told her to take a hike. We are not from the Quad City area, so had to do some checking to find a reputable repair service. After speaking with numerous repair locations, settled on Snider's West to do the repair for various reasons. They are members of the BBB and in m brief conversation with Scott, felt very comfortable that this guy knew his stuff. We were NOT disappointed!! Scott said he'd seen this issue with Taurus' dozens of times and he knew exactly what the issue was. They guarantee the parts and labor for a year, which is better than most places we talked to. The torque converter issue with the Taurus' is on recall, depending on where your vehicle was built. My daughter's vehicle wasn't part of the recall, but from all appearances, should be. Scott helped me get the info we needed to submit a claim and a complaint to the NHTSA safety recall people. We are hoping to get reimbursed at some point. But if that doesn't happen, all I can say is Snider's did everything to help us, fixed the car cheaper than quotes from other locations (because they wanted to replace the whole torque converter, and Scott knew that it was just a part within the converter that needed replaced). The car drives perfectly now and the piece of mind is there knowing that it was done right. These people are top notch, and my daughter's new go-to mechanic. Highly recommend!

Provided by YP.comWent to two other shops which told me my torque converter was bad. Both quotes were over $2000 for a transmission. Decided to call Sniders for a quote. They wanted to test drive the car like the other shops so I drove out . After 10 minutes I was told spark plugs and wires would solve my problem. Spent less than $200 and no more rumble @ high speeds. Unlike andy, I couldn't ask for better customer service and honesty. Will tell others about your shop. Thanks, Sydney.

Provided by YP.comStay away from this place. I was recommended by multiple people. Transmission died less than 3,000 miles out of warranty. Sniders won't even try to make things right. I would never recommend them to anyone. They not only lack customer service skills but evidently they lack the ability to fix a transmission. Completely worthless...
We try to work with all customers even when out of warranty. I am sorry to hear your dissatisfaction but many factors beyond our control can cause transmission failure. We actually double the OE part warranty on our 2yr rebuilds unlike most other 1yr warranties.
