Provided by YPmobileSmall selection of animals, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but yp lies, Its not open 24 hours. They close at 7pm weekdays & 4pm weekends. It's one of the cleanest shelters I've visited though.

Provided by YP.comI loved adopting from SICSA! The staff was so helpful and kind, and it is obvious the animals are well cared for. The facility was very clean and there are so many programs that can help you (and children) to be better pet owners. I also like the fact that they take animals to pet events, and bring them into different environments. Had it not been for this kind of "Thinking Outside the Box"-- I wouldn't have found my pup. I actually saw him twice in the shelter, barking loudly & acting a fool... but he was an entirely different dog outside of the shelter, and has remained so. SICSA also does a lot of online updates and media, which helps spread the word throughout the community. Thanks to all the staff for helping me find my little guy. I just wish I could adopt them all!

Provided by YP.comAlmost everyone was very helpful, knowledgeable, and very nice. However, I do not believe that their vet (at least one of them) is qualified. I adopted a dog that had not had his shots, immunizations, or neuter, so I had all of those things done with a vet I had never used. That vet had no problem with any of these things and said he was amazing. I then took him to Sicsa so he could be adopted by a good family and he passed the behavior test and the staff really liked him. However, the vet there said he tried to bite her when she was trying to get a blood sample and this disqualified him for admission into the program. I have to say, that is impossible. He has never even hinted at biting anyone, and the other vet had no problem. My advice is that if you run a good shelter like this one, you should have a staffed vet that has the ability to work with animals. What gained them 5 stars, is that the staff cared so much that they helped me find another shelter elsewhere for him, which was above and beyond and showed that they really do care about animals.

Provided by YPmobileA great place to adopt pets from. They even have trained staff to help insure pets get placed in good homes.

Provided by YP.comI tried to give a -Star but couldn't. I hated to leave a star but if I didn't I couldn't post this. Try & find another facillity. I discovered a Cat & Kitten behind our house in a small area with trees & bushes. I assume she was either dropped off or left behind by uncaring people when they moved. I have 2 aggressive dogs against other animals & I can't keep them. I called for emergency help for Mama Cat & Kitten, (neighbors said it looked to be around 4 wks) due to the possums, raccoons we are constantly chasing off, we were afraid the baby would be killed, since there were no more kittens I assumed that is what happened to them. The girl that answered the phone said that the Sicsa person that accepted Cats was off & wouldn't be back for 2 days, so I asked for help getting someone else & was told no other person could help??? I could accept the fact if they told me they had no room but to leave a Mother & Baby out on their own was so dissappointing for me. Especially after the storm the baby was shaking so bad. I remember, many years ago, when Sicsa was a small building & a few years later it was getting ready to expand/remodel. I lived in an apartment on Dorothy Lane & would always visit & most times I left supplies & donations. Perhaps you have had a better relationship with Sicsa. I hope this was a rare event???
