After reading several positive reviews I chose Hawthorn for a birthday dinner prior to attending a nearby concert. I prefer to sample locally owned restaurants that offer a variety of entrees. Hawthorn met all of my criteria and more! A friend and I agreed that several menu offerings sounded tempting. After a few visits from our friendly and knowledgeable server, our decisions were made even more difficult. Our server mentioned a number of extra appetizer and entree options in addition to the generous menu choices. Our shared appetizer was a delicious chicken and cheese dish (a special). We each chose a beef offering from about 20 entree possibilities. Each entree was picture perfect and the beef was tender enough to cut with a fork. An outstanding California wine complemented our meal nicely. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. While there's nothing outstanding about the exterior or setting of Hawthorn Grill, every aspect of the interior experience could not have been more pleasing! On a 5 star scale, I award 5 stars!!!!

Chef Candace has a wonderful menu, great for a date night, business meal, or special family nite! Fresh foods, locally sourced, and super service makes this a great place!
