Provided by YP.comWent there at 1030 . They we're suppose to be open at 10. Then made a 2nd trip up there and asked how much it would cost to hook back up my amp and speakers that the wires were already run on. He looks at my car for 2 minutes then grunts " I'll pass". This guy has no reason to even be in business if he is just going to blow off customers.

Provided by YP.comI contacted American Audio and spoke to Don who was most knowledgeable and helpful. KUDOS to this business, he does it all!!!! Needed to help with my stereo system, and I walked away one happy camper!!! Certainly knows his trade and willing to share his years of experience. I would highly recommend and happily do business again!!

Provided by YP.comI really wanted to keep my dollars from going to Best Buy for a stereo installation I was having done. I told Don that he could have my business if he could undercut them. After two phone conversations about my specific job I decided to let him do it. I really had a bad feeling about his attitude after our talks as he is technically professional, but very much on the short and rude side of that coin.
On the day of, I bring him my car and my own purchased items, and he looks at me like he is clueless as to why I'm there. I also wanted to reverify that I would be able to make an appointment in 3.5 hours from now. He responded with a "ya I know, ya told me" as he walked away with his back to me. His shop was very uninviting with an awful stench and typical self owned business signs hanging saying, "this is not Burger King, you don't get it your way" and the like. With all of this I was a breath away from saying "this isn't going to work", and pulling the plug and taking my car elsewhere. All I was hoping was he didn't make me regret not leaving. I sat for 3.25 hours straight w/o a single word or update, with my next appointment approaching.
He came out I paid and we spoke a minute, when I inquired about a specific detail of the job he of course spoke to me in a very condescending manner. All told the job was done perfectly to my estimation. However, I can't understand with the way small business owners are losing business to big box entities, that he wouldn't be bending over backwards to promote his establishment in a friendly manner. The other reports of his attitude are definitely true, and the final bill was the same as Best Buy, so I am just happy I got the job done first time. I would not return.

Provided by YP.comI bought a Mustang Convertible on Friday and found that the stereo system was fried. I called Don on Wednesday and he told me to bring it in. I did so and ended up purchasing a Legacy 6.8 screen with DVD,CD, and some things that I haven't learnt what they are yet. He was very knowlegable about his profession. Thanks Don!

Provided by YP.comI just called these bastards and asked if they charge for me to bring in a subwoofer and hook it up to an amp so i could see if it is blown, and they acted like i was a complete idiot for thinking they might do that for free. all they have to do is put two wires into the speaker, it would take 5 minutes TOPS. Besides, I don't care how stupid of a question i ask, they shouldn't act like I should know what their policy is about anything! REAL JERKS!

Provided by YP.comI was looking to upgrade the front speakers in a minivan that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I had stopped by a few other stores but got the feeling that either the sales people didn't know much more about the speakers than what was written on the side of the box or that they were only trying to sell me the most expensive speakers to get the most commission.
i stopped at American Audio Car and Don was very patient in giving me a quick lesson in what speakers would fit my van and the differences in the speaker styles and brands. He actually listened to what I was looking for as far as my expectations in the replacement speakers and showed me different speakers at different price points without trying to push me towards the most expensive product.
The installation is so good that my family and friends can't tell that the speakers didn't come from the factory. I definitely recommend Don and American Audio Car to anyone who wants the best customer service and best value in Central Florida!

I would highly recomend American Audio to anyone looking for a car alarm or even stero equipment.

Provided by YP.comI went into to shop orignally as I had recently bought a used car and the CD player wasn't working. I spoke to them for a while and they were most knowledgeable and friendly, not only did they fix the CD player in my car (some change was in it) and ended up purchasing a brand new JVC system with all the bells and whistles!! Don took his time getting to know what my needs were and then offered me a number of options. I recommend Don and his shop every chance I get! Thanks again for such great service!
