Provided by YP.comI am writing this to inform people about my experience with the Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach. First let me say the staff which runs this organization is completely unprofessional, indifferent and downright cruel when it comes to the treatment of animals under its care. I adopted an animal recently and it came with a host of health of problems. There is no licensed veterinarian on staff to oversee the treatment. Rather a vet tech oversees and does all of the medical procedures. With a budget of over 2 million dollars per year through public and private funding to the run the daily operations, I ask this question. Would you take your child to a medical assistant or a licensed physician for treatment? “THIS IS NOT A NO KILL SHELTER” This is still a kill shelter. According to their website, they are “still working” towards a “no kill” status and expect to be there in 2017. I won’t be donating any money to the Halifax Humane Society. Will you?

Provided by YPmobileMy elderly parents had to make the hard decision that they are no longer able to care for their cat. My mother is in the hospital from a infection she got from a cat scratch. Why would you charge over $500 to someone who is poor and trying to do the right thing? My father was able to find a vet who was willing to help but it meant ending this cats life.

Provided by YP.comI am surprised at these other reviews. I have always found HHS to be compassionate and helpful. I adopted the sweetest dog from them. I have also had occasions where pets were aged and sick and had to be euthanized. They were so caring. I don't really think they deserve those bad reviews. And I know for a fact that they do put sick animals in quarantine and try to separate them. We can't control viruses perfectly in the human world. Why would you expect them to be able to do so in the animal world?

Provided by YP.comThis place doesn't even bother to set the answering machine at the end of the day. God help the animals in this HELL HOLE. My sympathies go out to all the animals sent here. They are doomed.

Provided by YP.comI have taken 7 cats to be spayed and/or neutered to the Humane Society and each time, they came home sick ! Recently, I took 2 in and they came home VERY SICK with a Respiratory Infection and it spread to all my other cats! The ARNI Foundation is Out of Medication due to an Outbreak.....Most Likely from the Humane Society (In My Opinion)! DOESN'T ANYONE CHECK ON THIS SITE TO ASSURE CLEANLINESS ????? !!!!!
