CMI Architectural Products manufactures and distributes commercial entrances, storefronts, curtain walls and windows to glazing contractors throughout the United States. The cornerstone of CMI s product line is the patented Cronstroms Thermal System (CTS) frost-resistant window framing. The company features an in-house engineering staff and has the ability to bend all of its storefront and curtain wall systems in-house. CMI traces its roots back to the 1930s when it went into business fabricating sheet metal, manufacturing recreational aluminum coolers and heated metal food storage carts. In 1955, it acquired an aluminum door manufacturing operation, and the company began to take its current shape. CMI Architectural Products has manufacturing facilities in De Smet, S.D., and Dowagiac, Mich., and a sales office in Minneapolis.
